With everyone who either tested the boat or owned one for the themselves, all equally impressed by the amount of accommodation delivered in a boat of this size.

After years of selling in large numbers, this popular model has at last got its deserved full restyling. With a complete overhaul of the boat's overall look, further improvements to the boats accommodation and layout, plus more consideration given to the practical issues of boarding and alighting.

Winning a prestigious Motor Boat of the Year award, the original 320 also received a 9/10 review from the Motor Boat Monthly magazine. This 2018 Haines 320 now sees even more accommodation, with this first example recently launched featuring sleeping accommodation for 6, two dedicated double cabins, two separate toilet/shower compartments, two helm positions and two generous seating areas in the saloon and on the upper deck.

Haines Marine are delighted to have just built and commissioned a Haines 32 Offshore motor cruiser for naval architect Stuart Roy, who is retiring after 48 years in the yacht and small craft business.

Over the years Mr Roy has himself designed a very wide range of craft, ranging from the tiny Starfish dinghies for children to large steel super-yachts. Among his notable designs which include racing yachts, workboats, commercial catamarans and houseboats, Stuart co-designed (with the late Ed Burnett) the 90ft Queen's Rowbarge "Gloriana", which was the lead vessel in the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant. He also designed the boat "Bounty's End", which featured in the C4 TV series "Mutiny".

Speaking of his new Haines 32, Stuart Roy said "I was delighted to find a British boatyard that offers a bespoke hand-built product with many of the qualities normally associated with super-yachts: a wide range of exterior, interior and machinery options, close attention to detailed design, a superb finish and a very comprehensive specification of high-quality materials, fittings and marine equipment. Working together with leading agents Norfolk Yacht Agency, the service provided by Haines Marine made the process of purchasing the Haines 32 Offshore a smooth and entirely enjoyable experience."

Haines Marine Director Justin Haines spoke of his appreciation of the company being recognised and chosen by this renowned boat designer “it’s certainly not uncommon that we build a new motor cruiser for a couple looking forward to their retirement, wanting to spend time in comfort and enjoying boating, or that our customers choose a Haines craft because they favour a handcrafted British built product. It’s great that our products are recognised for their design and craftsmanship, however the fact that it was well respected boat designer Stuart Roy who appreciates these aspects of our boats and of the whole build process, this makes what we do even more rewarding for all of our team.”

A revamped 5-day London Boat Show proved an ideal exhibition to unveil the new 2018 Haines 32os model.

The remodelled offshore cruiser featured significant changes to its original layout, now providing an impressive spacious owners cabin with separate toilet and shower compartments. However the key feature of this boats new design is the open plan saloon and galley area with its multi-configuration seating arrangement. This layout allows owners and guests to comfortably dine either in the saloon or in the aft cockpit area, through the simplicity of rotating the saloon settee from its standard L-shaped arrangement. It also provides the much appreciated flip-up double navigation seat to starboard, while the helm position also benefits by the location of the new side door feature.

The visitor numbers and level of enquiries to the Haines stand was exceptional throughout the 5 days, with UK and international visitors taking the opportunity to see the high standard of finish and these innovative features on this new model.

This new Haines 32os model has now returned to Norfolk and is available for immediate viewings at NYA Brundall, contact or call 01603 713434 to arrange your viewing.

January's London Boat Show, running from Wednesday 10th to Sunday 14th, will see the unveiling of the new version of the popular Haines 32os model.

A multi configuration saloon seating arrangement, improved side door access, as well as a spacious forward cabin with separate toilet and shower, are just a few of its new features.

The revamped 5-day show promises to deliver much more than previous years, with all the major manufacturers exhibiting. Also running alongside the show is a boating and watersports show, which boat show ticket holders will have free admission to.

The region's Royal Norfolk Show took place this week with the Haines 26 exhibited amongst the many numbers of luxury cars, the range of agricultural machinery and much more besides.

Having not displayed at the show for several years, Haines Marine and Norfolk dealers, NYA, thought it was an ideal showcase for the recent addition to the Haines range of motor cruisers.

"Although what started as a very damp day on the Wednesday, it still didn't deter the visitors. We enjoyed a busy stand both days, with lots of interest in the boat on display and others in the range, coming from current boaters and more importantly those keen to start! It really is something worth exhibiting at, with the best of the region's products all on display in one place" Justin Haines commented.

This week has seen the completion and launch of a new Haines 360 model built for Haines charter boat operators Manor House Marine. Soon to be delivered to Northern Ireland ready for the start of a very busy boating season in the beautiful cruising region of Lower Lough Erne and the rest of the Irish waterways.

The cruising ground of Loch Ness and the Caledonian Canal continue to be exceptionally popular, especially this year following their 400 model being featured so prominently on Channel 4's recent "Great Canal Journeys".

Yesterday saw the handover of the first Zircon Emblem to Norfolk Broads charter boat operator, Ferry Marina. The 37 foot cruiser goes straight into their fleet ahead of the start of a busy boating season.

This new model was commissioned by Ferry Marina and saw the full development of a new superstructure and the subsequent making of a new mould, the first craft from this mould was then fitted out by the Haines build team as a luxury 2 + 2 berth cruiser, featuring all the comfort and luxury you'd expect in a modern cruiser. Highlights of its specification and design are the large sundeck with sun bathing pad, Ferry's own signature forward facing galley design with its panoramic view, a full king size berth to the master cabin and domestic style toilet and shower.

This is the second build project the Haines team has taken on from Ferry Marina in less than a year, following the order and delivery of four Admiral day cruisers to the Norfolk company last spring.

We are pleased to announce Haines Marine's participation at the first ever Brundall Boat Show. This new show based in the Broadland village of Brundall, just 7 miles from the city of Norwich, will be hosted on three different sites all based around the water on the north bank of the River Yare.

A fantastic end to 2016 in terms of new boat sales means an increase in production at the Haines boatyard in 2017.

Haines General Manager and Director Justin Haines commented "Sales of our 32s, 32os, 360 and 400 models during the final few months of last year mean that it is full steam ahead with production in 2017. UK agents Val Wyatt on the Thames and NYA here in Norfolk both sold various models as last year's boating season drew to a close, with customers eagerly anticipating delivery of their new boats for the new season ahead."

"The charter market in the UK is also reinvesting after another good season and 2017 will see brand new Haines charter craft available for hire in Northern Ireland, Scotland and the Norfolk Broads" Justin added further.

London Show Provides Many Sales Leads

Monday 16th January 2017

The year's first boat show drew to a close last night as the London Boat Show ended on a high, with a busy final weekend which saw many visitors to the Haines stand to see the quality that goes into each and every craft. The quality delivered in the clever interior space and the overall practicality of the boat itself impressed the visitors, for many of whom it was their first opportunity to see this new model.

Although Haines had a smaller representation at the Docklands show this year compared to previous London shows, Haines dealers Norfolk Yacht Agency came away from the 10 day show very pleased with the level of enquiries for all models in the Haines range, fully confident of boat show inspired sales in the months ahead.

Haines Marine have confirmed our attendance at January's London Boat Show at Excel. The international show held at London's Docklands starts on Friday 6th (preview day) and runs for 10 full days through to Sunday 15th January 2017.

Fresh from its unveiling at the Southampton Boat Show in September, we will again be again displaying the very latest example of the very popular new Haines 26 model. Justin Haines and members of the NYA sales team will be on hand to show you onboard. Find us on stand B190A.

Drawing to a close last night, the Southampton Boat Show 2016 saw the launch of the Haines 26 and many visitors took their first opportunity to be onboard and see for themselves the clever use of space and high level of craftsmanship that goes into this latest new Haines model.

Situated in a prominent position, displayed Haines Thames agent, Val Wyatt Marine. The 26 berthed side-on on the main pontoon, which meant that it certainly couldn't be missed. Ben Caddick from Val Wyatt reported excellent levels of interest in all boats in the Haines range, particularly the Haines 32 Sedan and new 26 models.

The 10 day show, despite this year being later in September, was blessed with sunshine for the most part and almost remained completely dry throughout. Visitor numbers on the last Saturday were certainly exceptionally high, with Haines general manger Justin Haines reporting "it was possibly the busiest boat show day I've seen in many years, with lots of new faces and lots of interest in this exciting new product of ours".

Starting in just over a weeks time and running for a full 10 days, the Southampton Boat Show 2016 returns. This year Haines Marine are taking the opportunity to display to a boat show audience for the very first time our new Haines 26 aft cockpit model.

Exhibited by Haines Thames based agents, Val Wyatt Marine, this latest model in the Haines range can be found on berth M206.

Haines Marine and Haines agents Norfolk Yacht Agency celebrate 10 years of successful business together this summer. The first sale of a Haines 31 Sedan by NYA to a Norfolk based customer in the summer of 2006 marked the start of what has proved a flourishing relationship between the two companies, and seeing the launch of many new products in the Haines range.

Haines Director Justin Haines commented "The relationship between the two companies has grown from strength to strength and NYA have achieved a tremendous number of new boat sales during this 10 year period. A period of time which has seen many new products added to the Haines range in the form of the Haines 32 Sedan, 32 Offshore, 42 Elegance, 360 Aft Cabin, 400 Aft Cabin and the recently launched Haines 26."

"Appointing an agent such as Norfolk Yacht Agency allowed us to reach markets we hadn't been able to sell into previously, and with the two companies sharing the same core values for delivering excellent customer service and quality in the products we both offer, it has been a perfect match and we look forward to another 10 years working closely together" Justin added.

The popular HISWA te Water show in Amsterdam drew to a close this evening with Haines Dutch dealer, Oscar Simonse, reporting an excellent level of interest in the displayed 32 Offshore model and also larger craft in the Haines range.

Perfect for the waterways of Holland and its neighbouring countries, the 32 Offshore displayed all the quality the European visitors expect to see in bespoke hand built British craft along with refined styling and clever use of space the boat offers.

No doubt encouraged by the current Sterling / Euro exchange rate, there were many further enquiries into larger boats in the Haines range. Haines presence as an UK exporter of high quality motor cruisers continues some 30 uninterrupted years after the company first exported its first craft.

Starting two weeks tomorrow, the Hiswa show in Amsterdam is a must see event on your boat show calendar.

Ideally located just across the water from Amsterdam central station and with frequent ferries and easy access to Schiphol airport, the Hiswa-on-the-Water show regularly attracts visitors from all over Europe.

Val Wyatt Marine Appointed as New Haines Thames Dealer

Haines Marine has announced a further expansion to its UK sales network with the new appointment of Thames based dealer, Val Wyatt Marine.

Haines has achieved a record number of sales in recent years, working closely alongside existing UK agents Norfolk Yacht Agency and Shepherd Marine Sales. This recent appointment of a new agent on the Thames now provides customers with three bases to view new and used Haines craft.

"With Val Wyatt Marine appointed as a third agent in the UK, the Haines brand will continue to grow, and we believe will expand our Thames and potentially our south coast markets greatly" Justin Haines, Director and General Manager explained. “Like Haines, Val Wyatt is a family run operation, sharing and prioritising Haines’ same values for customer service and for making the whole new boat buying experience a relaxed and pleasurable one.”

Val Wyatt Marine's stunning new 'houseboat' sales office

“Their stunning waterside location in Wargrave, on the doorstep of Henley-on-Thames, is a fantastic location for boating, and the full range of Haines craft are tailor made for this environment. We are extremely excited and encouraged by what the Val Wyatt Marine team can offer in terms of service and the recent expansion to their marina along with new sales offices provide them with the perfect platform for selling Haines boats.”

“Geographically it makes perfect sense for Haines to have a sales outlet on the Thames, with good access to the South Coast and the South West. Already being well represented with NYA on the East Coast and in the Shepherd’s in North West, it means that potential customers are not travelling vast distances to see what we can offer.” Justin added.

Ben Caddick of Val Wyatt Marine, commented: “We are delighted to have been appointed by Haines. It is a fantastic brand with values that match our own, and the quality of the boats is second to none in its class. We are looking forward to February when our first boat, a Haines 32 Sedan, will be delivered to our marina and we can introduce customers to this much loved brand.”

New Layout Option for the Haines 32os

Fresh from yesterday's announcement that the Haines 32 Offshore will be a finalist in the 2016 Motor Boat Awards, Haines have revealed a new interior layout for this same craft.

A layout that is very much customer led, delivering a comfortable raised double navigators seat to the starboard side and inward facing double settees either side of the saloon. This arrangement makes for an exceptionally sociable layout, making the most of the aft cockpit area, providing an abundance of seating options for all your guests.

V8 Engine Option for Haines 32 Offshore

Following the recent launch of the new 2016 Haines 400 Aft Cabin model at the Southampton Boat Show, a craft fitted with twin Yanmar 8LV-370hp engines. Haines have again paired up with engine manufacturers Yanmar to offer a single V8 engine option in the popular Haines 32 offshore model.

"Light weight, at only 450kg, the new Yanmar 8LV is the lightest diesel engine in class and has the best power-to-weight ratio" Director Justin Haines explained. "These V8 engines are exceptionally smooth running and at tick over run at just 550 RPM, which means that slow speed handling is made easy, with the boat not going too fast at idle speed." he added.

Twin turbochargers cause the engine to reach maximum torque at just above 2000 rpm. A flat torque curve like this is ideal for strong throttle response in the mid range. Fuel consumption charts show the best fuel economy is reached at about 3000 RPM, your ideal point for cruising, but there is plenty more power there if needed.

"We were so impressed with these engines in our recently produced 400 model that it made perfect sense to offer it in other models in the Haines range." Justin further added.

The Haines 32os model now offered with either the Yanmar 8LV 320hp or the 350hp.

South Coast Show Draws to a Close

The 2015 Southampton Boat Show drew to a close last night with the final weekend being a sun soaked affair, rather than the indifferent weather experienced earlier in the week.

Haines representation at the popular south coast show has never been bigger and the presentation of the two boats was impressive, with both boats being highly visible from several views around the marina location.

The Haines 400 model with its stone grey hull, bonded in hull windows and new interior remained a popular 'must see' boat throughout the show. The quality of the build as always was consistently remarked upon and appreciated by the visitors to the stand, the changes made to the new 2016 model were considered by existing Haines 400 owners as great well thought-out improvements, views shared by owners of similar style aft cabin cruisers.

One of the busiest boats on display at the show must of been the Haines 32 Offshore, having made its debut at last year's show and fresh from an excellent review in Motor Boat and Yachting magazine. The 32os was widely appreciated for the easy hassle free approach to boating that it offers.

Southampton Boat Show 2015

The Southampton Boat Show 2015 starts this Friday and runs for 10 days through to Sunday 20th September. Haines Marine will again be in attendance, well represented by UK agents Norfolk Yacht Agency and can be found on the opposite side of the pontoon to our last year’s position.

2015 has seen a significant increase in Haines' representation at boat shows and this trend continues, this year displaying two brand new boats for visitors to get onboard at Southampton. The Haines 32 Offshore will be on many visitors ‘must see’ list, following its excellent review in Motor Boat and Yachting magazine.

The new Haines 400, a significantly revamped 2016 model will also attract the crowds. Fresh from its sea trials and photo shoot last week, this flagship of the Haines range delivers the comfort, luxury and performance that surpasses many craft with much bigger price tags.

Haines Quality Appreciated at the Amsterdam Boat Show

Haines first ever representation at the HISWA In-Water Boat Show in Amsterdam drew to a close on Sunday evening with Haines Dutch Agent, Melior Yachts, very pleased with the reception that the new Haines 360 received from what was very much an international audience.

The twin engine 360, which accommodates a twin stateroom layout and delivers a comfortable 18 knot performance, was on display in a prominent position in the Marina. Visitors from many of the UK’s neighbouring countries were particularly impressed with the crafts living space and the quality of the Haines finish.

Justin Haines was in attendance at the show and revealed “Never have Haines Marine had so much exposure of our products along with such a great opportunity to reach new markets."

"The customers of the boat displayed in Amsterdam intend to use the boat on the German lakes, the Baltic Sea and around Sweden. The Haines products are suited to all these waterways, it's massively important we continue to grow new markets, and push our rich boat building pedigree that we have in Norfolk." he added.

The Haines 360 model at the Amsterdam Boat Show is ideally suited to the waterways of Northern Europe.

A Big Crowd for the Horning Boat Show

The annual Horning Boat Show, now in its third year, came to an end on Saturday evening with all exhibitors agreeing that it was the biggest and best yet.

Visitors travelled in large numbers, some travelling up to 200 miles, to visit the popular Broadland show that has now grown year on year.

The organisers had promised a show that would offer "something for everybody" and the crowds were certainly not disappointed. Throughout the day visitors were able to get a feeling for all aspects of boating and an industry that is so vital to the whole Broadland community.

Haines as always were exhibiting alongside agents Norfolk Yacht Agency, displaying a selection of craft on the water including a Haines 32 Sedan and a 400 model. In the early afternoon from the waterside display area, the crowds were also able to get the best possible view of the NYA sponsored aeroplane acrobatics. The entertainment continued later in the day as the energetic and authentic Doo-Wop vocal group, the T-Tones, took to the stage as the visitors enjoyed the complimentary refreshments.

Fun in the Sun on the MBY Boat Test

They had waited patiently, but eventually on Thursday of last week magazine Motor Boat and Yachting finally got their hands the new Haines 32 Offshore.

In the expert hands of their Boat Test Editor, Jack Haines (no relation!), they took the opportunity to put the boat through her paces.

Initially a south coast boat test was planned, but ultimately a break from the norm and all those Med and Solent backdrops was decided upon, as we headed out of Lowestoft and down to Southwold on a sun soaked North Sea.

Keeping pace with the much larger photo boat with photographer Lester McCarthy onboard, Jack effortlessly cut through her wash and demonstrated the 32 Offshore's comfortable ride and great manoeuvrability.

The images of the boat performing in front of the stunning backdrop of the Southwold coast and the big blue skies will add to a great review which you can read in Motor Boat and Yachting later this summer.

New Haines 400 2015 Model

Late Summer 2015 will see the launch of the flagship model to the Haines range as the new Haines 400 model makes its debut at the Southampton boat show in September.

Soon to come into production, this boat will feature a large master aft cabin and an equally spacious guest en-suite forward cabin. A spit level saloon / galley / dining area and a spacious aft upper deck makes this model an all-round craft for entertaining throughout your boating season.

The boats exterior further impresses with the aesthetically pleasing window lines of the superstructure, flush fit hatches and the long hull windows appearing to give extra length to the stunning 40 foot stone grey hull.

Out of the marina and under way at sea this boat will not disappoint either, with twin Yanmar 370hp V8 engines delivering a comfortable and impressive 30 knot plus performance.

Charter Boat Order Placed from Irish Waterways Company

Irish Waterways based Silverline Cruisers has confirmed an order for four new Haines 360 aft cabin boats as it looks to add to its already large range of Haines built charter craft.

All the new boats will be operated from Silverline's base at Banagher on the River Shannon, with the first craft delivered and available for hire from May 2015 and all boats complete and ready for the start of the 2016 season.

Each of the new boats are to be built to a high specification with a walnut interior and two en-suite cabins, each craft also coming complete with bow thrusters, 2kw inverters and large smart TV's.

The new 360 model, popular with both inland and offshore boaters in the private market. Now available for hire on the the Irish Waterways.

Traditionally the building of craft destined for the charter markets of Europe's inland waterways has always represented a high percentage of Haines' overall production. Throughout Haines 35 year history, boats have left the Norfolk production facility for operators based in France, Germany, Holland, Ireland and Italy.

Increase in Production Following Boat Show Sales

The success of the Southampton and London boat shows as well as the recent launch of two new models to the range is highlighted by the increase of production at the Haines Norfolk workshops over the winter period.

New 32 Offshore and aft cabin Haines 360 models dominate the factory floor space, with all boats destined for different locations on UK and Irish waterways.

The Haines 360 model proved to be one of the real stars of the show following its boat show debut at London. Many visitors commenting on the outstanding use of space and generous accommodation delivered in its 11 meter length. The 32 Offshore has continued where it left off, after an order was placed on day one of its official launch in Southampton, with continued growing Europe wide interest and several recent orders.

New Haines Models Unveiled at London Boat Show

As this year’s exhibition at London Excel drew to a close last night, members of the Haines sales team were left reflecting on what was a thoroughly worthwhile and successful show.

Haines presence at the show was significantly improved with two boats on display as a steady stream of visitors took their opportunity to see these new products. Making a boat show debut at London was the new 360 aft cabin model, delivering an abundance of space in its twin-stateroom layout, providing your guests with the same level of comfort in the island double forward cabin as can be enjoyed by the owners in the master aft cabin.

The Haines 360 attracted great interest throughout the 10 days, with the first order being placed on the very first weekend of the show. Alongside the 360 was the stunning 32 Offshore model, making its first appearance at London following its hugely successful world launch at Southampton in September. With a factory full of 32 Offshore models currently in production, the very pretty and extremely comfortable aft cockpit style cruiser continued to catch the eye of the boat show visitors.

London Boat Show 2015

The boats are there, the bags are packed and the team are about to head down to the Excel Exhibition Centre for the start of the 2015 London Boat Show.

60 years since the first London show, originally at Olympia and later at Earl's Court, the latest Excel show begins on Friday 9th January running for 10 full days through to Sunday 18th January.

Strong Sales Reported at the Southampton Boatshow Agent

An extremely enthused sales team returned from the Southampton Boat Show late on Sunday night predicting the most successful boat show in the company’s history.

The boat on display was sold to a customer visiting on the opening day of the show, and a second deal shortly followed when agreed on the third day as the boating public descended in numbers on the sun soaked south coast show.

On the back of a good British summer and with most boaters having used their boats for a long extended season, many were keen to talk about their boating plans for the future.

Making its boatshow debut, the Haines 32 Offshore was always likely to attract the crowds, with many visitors making it their first port of call. A truly British built craft with a stunning blue hull and an inviting open plan layout proved too much for most to just pass by, and once onboard were amazed by the level of accommodation and impressed by the innovative flexible layout and the saloon‘s multi-configuration seating arrangement.

Further sales of the 32 Offshore are expected to be completed over the next few weeks, and with a high level of interest also shown in other models such as the Haines 400 and new 360, the Haines production schedule is already looking very healthy for 2015.

Fun in the Sun on 32os Sea Trials Agent

Sea trials were carried out earlier this week on the new 32 Offshore, throwing this new model straight into the environment she has been designed for.

Thorough testing and trialing on the river had already been done, with boats slow speed handling effortless due to the boats deep keel, but it was at sea where her new Andrew Wolstenholme designed hull was properly put through its paces.

To the delight of all those onboard and those watching on from the neighbouring photo boat, the 32os sat beautifully in the water picking up onto the plane at relatively low RPM, and making light work of the large wash from other much larger vessels. Turning tightly and displaying an extremely soft cushioned ride, with every twist and turn or oncoming wave she enjoyed every moment of her chance to shine.

Achieving a top speed of 20 knots at a near 2 miles per gallon fuel consumption, the choice of a single Nanni 270hp engine also seems truly justified.

Haines 32 Offshore Trials & Testing Underway Agent

The excitement around the launch of any new model is always evident, but the level of anticipation and interest in the latest addition to the Haines range has rarely been experienced before.

In many ways unsurprising considering the success of the 32 Offshore’s inland cruising sister, the 32 Sedan, but now that the first boat is in the water ahead of its extensive period of trialling and testing, that excitement still seems to grow.

Initial testing has revealed that all the hard work done at the design stage, and the careful consideration given to the engine choice on the first craft was all well worthwhile, with early testing delivering a near 20 knot performance with only a single Nanni 270hp engine.

Southampton Boat Show & Haines 32 Offshore International Debutd as Haines Agent

To coincide with the international launch of the new Haines 32 Offshore model, Haines Marine will be moving to a more prominent central position at the Southampton Boat Show in September.

A side-on berth will maximise the boats exposure, ensuring all visitors are able to appreciate all aspects of this new craft. Situated on the water on berth M236, as usual the team from Haines and Norfolk Yacht Agency will be onboard to assist with any enquiries.

The Haines 32 Offshore will be on display at the Southampton Boat Show from 12th to 21st September, to book your private viewing please contact or call 01603 713434

Anticipation Grows Ahead of the Haines 32os World Premiere

New boats always create a vast amount of excitement and anticipation, and this is clearly evident ahead of the new Haines 32 Offshore's official unveiling at the Southampton Boat Show in September.

Several eager boaters and interested customers have already taken the opportunity to view the boat in build, to get a feel for themselves the boat's impressive use of space, and to see the build quality that goes into each and every craft built at the Haines factory.

Unsurprisingly orders have already been taken from plan for this new model, meaning only a few early 2015 build slots are available.

Norfolk Yacht Agency's own display model will be available for viewing in late August, with it's World Premiere made at the Southampton Boat Show between 12th and 20th September. Alternatively, should you wish to arrange your own exclusive viewing of this craft in build contact to arrange your factory visit.

Nanni T4.270hp Selected for First Haines 32 Offshoreinted as Haines Agent

Fuel economy is often the first thing in boat buyer’s minds these days, and new offshore craft produced with a large single engine are now a frequent sight.

After several weeks of careful consideration and calculations being made, Haines Marine are excited to announce that the engine selected for our first 32 Offshore model and the Southampton Boat Show display boat, is the new Nanni T.270 engine.
Its low weight and impressive performance figures make it the perfect choice for this new model. Delivering considerably more torque at relatively low RPM, and weighing as much as 180kg less than some of the other engine options, the Toyota based Nanni engine fitted to the Andrew Wolstenholme’s newly designed hull will effortlessly achieve the low to intermediate planing speeds required by the discerning boater. Fans of twin engine installations are not to be disappointed though, with various options and alternative engine makes also offered.

Haines Marine’s association with Nanni Engines goes back many years, with Nanni’s UK distributor AR Peachment also Norfolk based.

“We are extremely excited by what looks like the perfect engine for this boat, its performance figures are extremely impressive, with its higher torque and with it being significantly lighter than other engine alternatives. It will allow the boat to get on the plane much earlier, delivering the boats optimum performance.” Director Justin Haines added.

New Haines 32 Offshore in Productionointed as Haines Agent

The first of the new Haines 32 Offshore model is now in production, well in advance of its official unveiling at the Southampton Boat Show in September.

The brand new Andrew Wolstenholme designed hull, striking with its dark navy blue band, promises to deliver the performance and ride you would expect in this offshore model. Its extensive stringer and frame arrangement giving the hull the additional strengthening required for those rougher seas.

Inside, the layout does not stray too far away from its sister boat, the 32 Sedan, with a large island double forward cabin, a separate toilet and shower compartment and a generous galley. There are several additions in terms of safety features for any sea passage, as well as a clever design feature of a flexible settee arrangement and living space in the saloon and cockpit area.

Jason Dearden of Shepherds Marine explained “The whole team here at Shepherds are very excited about representing this successful British brand to customers in the North and Scotland. We are looking forward to receiving our first Haines 32 Sedan in June.” Adding “Haines have an excellent range of craft for both the northern inland waters such as Windermere but also for coastal boating with their off-shore variations coupled with Haines’ reputation for quality and service we are sure they will gain a good following in the coming years.”

Its format has expanded greatly this year, although last year's first ever show attracted many visitors, many boaters or families new to boating, and even more than a few boat buyers!" Southampton Boat Show Draws to a Close

In the early hours of Monday morning the team from Haines and Norfolk Yacht Agency returned to Norfolk, a little tired and weary but extremely enthused by what was another successful Southampton Boat Show.

The Haines 32 Sedan model had sold exceptionally well in the weeks leading up to the show, with 4 craft sold in a little over 3 weeks. This made it an obvious decision to exhibit this model at the popular South Coast Show.

An excellent review in the October edition of Motor Boat Monthly magazine resulted in many visitors making a beeline straight for the Haines berth on the water. Despite the weather being slightly undecided as to whether the summer has ended, or is still wanting to remain with us, the queues frequently formed with visitors eager to take a closer look onboard. Presenting extremely well on its side on berth in the relaxed marina environment, the visitors onboard were certainly impressed by the high standard of the Haines finish and the fine attention to detail.

Interest in the 32 Sedan offshore model, ideal for South Coast cruising was also frequent, along with the soon to be released new Haines 360 aft cabin model.

32 Sedan Going Offshore

Designs have now been made for a new offshore planing version of the popular Haines 32 Sedan model. The new Andrew Wolstenholme designed hull will deliver an excellent offshore performance while retaining the appealing characteristics of the original river and estuary model.

Built to full category B specification, capable of speeds in excess of 20 knots, and incorporating an array of practical features. The new 32 Sedan Offshore will satisfy the needs of boaters wishing to explore further afield in the safety and comfort of this stylish and spacious 32 foot cruiser.

Plans for this latest development have been in place since the launch of the original Haines 32 Sedan river and estuary cruiser, but such has been the far reaching appeal and increased demand that this development has been brought forward. Offered with single or twin engine installation, Haines UK agents Norfolk Yacht Agency have placed an order for their first with the single Yanmar 260hp engine option, available for delivery in June 2014.

32 Sedan Motor Boats Monthly Test Report

Last week Nick Burnham, Test Editor of Motor Boats Monthly, was able to finally get onboard a new Haines 32 Sedan. Such has been the demand for this new Haines model, that having an unsold boat available for MBM to fully test has been a challenge.

The Norfolk Broads was again the destination, this time on the Southern Broads, departing the moorings from Brundall. Nick enjoyed the full day recording the boats finest details, as well as testing the boats performance and handling.

The full MBM Haines 32 Sedan test report will be in the magazine's October edition, and also look out for video footage of a walkthrough the boats interior and with it on the water.

Also on show and capturing the imagination of many guests was the latest Haines 42 Elegance, which under the summer sun and with its large aft raised deck area, displayed exactly what you could expect when cruising on this style of motor cruiser. The 400 on show completed the Haines all star line-up, and was gratefully exhibited with the permission of its proud owner.

The hardworking team at the Water's Edge ensured that all guests were looked after as the sun continued to shine into the early evening.

A Fantastic First Horning Boat Show

There was an outstanding attendance for the very first Horning Boat Show on Saturday 4th May. The wind blew, but sun shone as thousands of visitors young and old descended on the pretty Norfolk village.

Taking the opportunity to get onboard and view the range of boats on show, throughout the day the queues formed on the Haines and Norfolk Yacht Agency stand as people waited eagerly for their chance to view the new Haines 42 Elegance and the Haines 400 on display. The two craft, one a boat designed for cruising inland waterways in the UK and Europe, the other a stunning all action offshore cruiser, demonstrated perfectly the build quality and accommodation provided throughout the Norfolk built Haines range of motor cruisers.

Children's entertainment was provided by a balloon modelling pirate and goodie bags were dispatched as the numbers grew on the stand. Later in afternoon the entrainment continued as guests on the stand enjoyed refreshments and the obligatory jazz band, as what proved to be a very worthwhile and hugely enjoyable day drew to close.

3 Haines Craft, 1 Boat Builder

Delighted Haines customer's Ken and Sue Newland have just taken delivery of their new Haines 400 'Our Time'. For these loyal Haines customer's it represents their third Haines craft and incredibly for one Haines employee he has been involved in the build of all three.

Haines Marine boat builder Kevin Turner first met Mr and Mrs Newland in 1994 when he was part of the build team that completed their first Haines boat, a 35 foot model, which along with son Mark they used and enjoyed extensively on UK waters, the French Canals and on the Mediteranian.

Several years and many adventures later in 2009, Haines’ longest serving employee Kevin was again using his woodworking skills on the same customer’s next craft, a Haines 350.

Impressed by the space provided on the Haines 400 model and their appreciation of the enduring build quality of Haines boats, Mr and Mrs Newland decided to place an order for a third new boat. Although not intentionally planned, they were delighted to discover that the same hands that built their first and second boats were now crafting their latest new vessel.

Winter Approaching

With the boating season drawing to a close for some, Haines Marine would like to remind customers of the importance of the correct winterisation of their craft.

While some are wrapping their boats up for the winter, there are those planning for boating all year round. With the necessary precautions such as fitting engine room heaters, using your boats domestic heating system and flushing water from the toilet and fresh water systems when not in use, there is no reason why your boating season cannot be prolonged. Last year saw October temperatures 20 degrees plus even after some customers had already had their boats winterised, while during the winter months you can regularly enjoy hassle free boating with plenty of available moorings and some stunning sunsets.

To book your boat in for winterising, or any other servicing and refurbishment requirements, please contact us on 01692 582180 or

Charter Craft Orders

In addition to the current lines of production of new private builds, a production programme of 6 Haines charter craft has now begun in the Catfield factory, following orders for boats to be operated on the European inland waterways.

Orders for Haines 35 and Haines 42 charter craft have recently been placed for use on the French canals, German lakes and Irish waterways. All 6 boats are due for early 2013 deliveries, ready for the start of the season.

Haines’ reputation for maintaining a high standard of build throughout the range has led to a high level of repeat business amongst their charter customers. The importance of solid, well crafted and well engineered boats is essential in the running of a hire-fleet. Many of the current charter customers initially purchased their first Haines built craft in the 1980’s and 90’s, and have returned year after year to update their fleets.

Creating a Big Impression

“Only 32 feet?” Is the most common reaction from those that have viewed the latest model in the Haines range.

The Haines 32 Sedan, delivers the space for socialising and the ease of access so often demanded in a sedan style of motor cruiser. Effortless demonstrations of the simple ‘hinge and slide’ aft patio doors seem to instantly inspire peoples imagination, thinking of what a joy it would be to use such a fantastic entertaining space.

The size of the forward cabin, with its generous island double berth and ample headroom throughout, seems also to come as a surprise to many. A craft that is much more than a weekender, delivering the space required to entertain and for those longer stays onboard.

Successful Boat Launch

A large turnout for the official launch of two new boats to the Haines range was enjoyed by all at the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club on Saturday 1st September. The Pimms and Champagne was being served and the local Jazz band enjoyed, but the Haines 32 Sedan and the 42 Elegance were what was interesting most visitors.

Throughout the afternoon and later into the evening the UK and international visitors looked through the new models, along with a new 400 also on show. A boat show atmosphere was created, the bustling pontoons reminiscent of a busy Saturday at Southampton Boat Show.

The 3 new craft on show, all offered something different, either for those wishing to cruise the inland waterways or those wanting to head offshore. The 32 Sedan making a real impression with its open plan layout and full opening aft patio doors, appealing to both young families and retirees with the easy access boarding.

The Haines 42 Elegance, offering all the space and live aboard comfort required for extended cruising. During the day up to 10 people at a time comfortably took their time viewing the 3 large cabins, and the stylish interior of the spacious saloon and galley space.

The 400 is always a boat that turns heads, and on Saturday it was no different. Visitors appreciating the standard of finish and the overall feel of the crafts interior.

Many visitors, current Haines boat owners and friends, later joined the team of Haines and Norfolk Yacht Agency for a summer dinner in the restaurant of the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club.  Excellent food, musical entertainment and good company were enjoyed by all, with many taking the opportunity to again view the boats on show when lit up at night.

What was a fantastic sociable and relaxed day, also seemed to bring out the boat buying public with 5 orders of new Haines craft being placed over the course of the weekend.

All the team at Haines Marine would like thank everyone that attended this event, and all those that helped organise the day especially the staff of the Royal Norfolk and Suffolk Yacht Club.

Selling Well in Tough Times

It’s not been the greatest weather to start the season. Grey skies and a good chance of rain can deter even the hardiest of sailors.  Nor is this the best economic climate to persuade people to invest in anything.

However, there’s always someone in the market for a boat.  We just have to work harder to find them. We have done well with used boats recently, particularly Haines, with five sold in the last month, boats that have come from as far afield as Ireland and the Thames  - and even Ipswich.

Whatever the climate (financially or weather-wise) there are always people who are looking to trade up or down – or just fancy something new. If that’s you we can probably help.

As I said, there’s no magic bullet.  It’s just a case of working harder. Our team prepare boats very well to make the right impression.   We are also investing in smart new offices in Horning, right on the waterfront to make it more convenient for buyers.

We find our part exchange offer works well.  A Bentley Continental and a Motor Home have been taken in part exchange over the last year – and buyers found for both.

Many more enquiries are coming from our website and our internet marketing campaigns. They give us a much wider reach, bringing interest from all over the country and beyond.

So whether you are looking to buy or sell, we will work hard to a make a deal happen for you.

James Fraser, Norfolk Yacht Agency

The feel of space and the accommodation provided in the 42 Elegance will be exactly what customers would hope to see in a boat of this size, but the same feel of space created on the 32 Sedan will come as a surprise to many.

Demand for the launch event has been high, but places are still available. For your invitation to this event please call Louise at Norfolk Yacht Agency on 01603 713434

Development & Production Update

Development work on the new 32 Sedan and the Haines Elegance is well under way, with both models already attracting high levels of interest from both the UK and overseas. Interest in the 32 Sedan has come from both the family starter boat market, and from those looking to down-size from a larger craft. The first 32 Sedan is already sold to a Norfolk Broads customer, and the second has been ordered by Haines UK agent Norfolk Yacht Agency, available for a late summer / early autumn delivery.

The Haines Elegance is seen as a river boat that ticks all the boxes, with generous accommodation and living space that is essential for those longer stays on board, and seen by many boat buyers as a genuine boat for all the family.

Both eagerly awaited models will make their official debut at the Haines boat launch event planned for Saturday 1st September. Further details of this event will be announced shortly.

Amongst the other craft currently in production are 3 craft destined for German waterways, and a 12 berth 52 foot charter boat which is destined for the river Shannon in Ireland, and will soon be available for hire with Silverline Cruisers.

Haines - Exporting Success

A first for Haines Marine to report, with 5 of the 6 craft currently in production destined for 5 different European countries. A range of models over the next few weeks will be delivered to customers in France, Germany, Ireland, Russia and the UK.

Haines has a long history of craft being produced for overseas customers, with the company being built around the strength of its export market. This has continued with new markets opening up in recent years and the waterways of Europe being well suited to the range of Haines motor cruisers.

An increase in boat enquiries from abroad has led to Haines' decision to exhibit at future overseas boat shows, with the Dusseldorf show planned for January 2013.

Investment in New Models

In June 2009 Haines Marine purchased the mould tools for their range of luxury motor cruisers from the disbanded Norfolk company, Aqua Fibre. This was followed by further investment in 2010 with the hugely successful Haines 400 model development. Now the company are again investing heavily to secure the long term future of the brand, with the announcement of a 3-year development programme and the launch of new models to its range.

Beginning with the launch of the new Haines 42 Elegance, targeting the European inland cruising market of France, Germany, Holland, Ireland and the UK. The 42 Elegance offers customers the live-aboard layout required for those longer cruises. With many people enjoying long summers afloat on Europe’s network of waterways, many of which doing so on Dutch built steel boats. Norfolk based Haines believe that the 42 Elegance delivers an ideal GRP alternative.

Haines 42 Elegance

Late 2012 will also see the launch of the 32 Sedan, a new development, and a boat aimed at the young family or starter boat market with a retail price of around £150,000.

2013 will see the launch of the much anticipated 40 Sedan, an offshore model with a 30 knot performance. Following on from the popular and award winning Haines 35 Sedan, the 40 Sedan will deliver the large aft cockpit and open-plan saloon space that is so often appreciated in modern day motor cruisers.

With a workforce of 26, the Haines Norfolk factory is currently operating at full capacity with craft being produced across the model range. Haines are keen to develop further and build on the success of recent years. With new markets buying British built boats, Haines have just sold their first boat to a Russian customer based on the Black Sea, and a large proportion of the company’s production being for export. Haines are taking the opportunity to expand on the demand for their custom built luxury craft.

UK Haines dealer, Norfolk Yacht Agency, have also enjoyed a successful year and already confirmed orders for each of the new models, along with a new Haines 400 aft cabin that will be exhibited at the London Boat Show. In its last financial year NYA sold nearly 300 boats (new and used) with a total value of about £10 million.

Haines Owners Irish Cruise In Company

After 30 years of building a range of boats for Irish customers, Haines Marine were pleased to enjoy their first Irish Cruise in Company last weekend (8th - 10th July) with 14 other Haines craft and their crew.

A total of 50 guests attended a fun filled weekend with a barbeque on the Friday night, and a dinner followed by music and lots of singing and dancing on the Saturday night. Saturday was a fine sunny day, as all the boats left from Peter Quigley’s Marina at Killinure Point on Lough Ree and headed to the quiet moorings at Portrunny for lunch. The weekend climaxed with the dinner held at the stunning Glasson Country House Hotel all enjoyed with the obligatory great Irish craic.

As with any Cruise in Company, it gave everyone an opportunity to talk boats, socialise and make many new friends. Bob, Mary and Justin Haines were all warmly greeted by customers, and the weekend was undoubtedly a resounding success, largely down to the expert organisational skills of Haines 31 owner Michael Martin.

Thames Launch - Haines 400

Haines, award winning British builders of luxury custom built motor cruisers celebrated the launch of their latest Haines 400, 6 berth aft cabin model at Harleyford  Marina on the Thames. Enjoyed on a lovely warm June Saturday afternoon along with 80 invited guests. The launch party was held by kind permission of Chris and Lesley Hansford, the boat’s owners and Harleyford Estate and Marina. Guests, including several members of the Haines Owners Club, enjoyed canapés, Pimms and Champagne whilst relaxing, chatting and looking over the Haines 400. Haines Agents, Norfolk Yacht Agency and Bob, Mary and Justin Haines, were on hand to meet and greet guests, showing people on board and answering questions about their quality craft. Several Haines craft are already moored on the Marina.

Marina manager Mark Pearce who kindly helped with the event, said “He was pleased to see the Marina buzzing with activity and he looked forward to welcoming more new Haines boats on to the Marina in future. This is an excellent way for customers to see on board a new model without having to visit a Boat Show, a much more personal and pleasant experience having the boat brought to them where they enjoy their boating on the Thames” Those who went on board were impressed by the spacious interior layout with two master cabins, large galley on both port and starboard sides with large toilet and shower compartments. The model on display had a semi displacement hull and was fitted with a single Nanni 200hp diesel, making it ideal for Thames cruising. However, the 400 is offered with a choice of hulls, semi displacement and a planing hull version, with engine options available up to twin Volvo 330 hp, giving speeds up to 28 knots for coastal cruising. Making it a very versatile craft for both river, estuary and offshore cruising.

James Fraser of Norfolk Yacht Agency said “It was great to meet Haines owners from the Thames and he looked forward to welcoming some to Norfolk when they decide to change their boat. We are happy to consider part exchanges for customers ordering a new Haines, and we like to show customers around the factory to see boats in production. It makes a good day out. Most people thinking of changing their boats are certainly impressed with the quality and dedication of the Haines work force when they visit. The company were awarded outstanding service award by Motor Boats Monthly and they certainly give good service, so important today”

This was the first time the latest model from the Haines range of coastal and river cruisers had been viewed on the Thames, having received its first outing last September at Southampton Boat Show. Several sales of the model have been secured since then and the factory in Norfolk is busy producing boats across their range sold to customers throughout UK and Europe.

Haines Charter Craft - Large Export Order

Haines Marine have fought off strong European competition to secure two contracts to supply 12 new luxury motor cruisers for a Swiss company. The boats will be operated on the German Mecklenburg Lakes near Berlin and from two locations on the French Canals in 2012. With the first 7 boats for production this year, and a further 5 boats to follow next year for the same company.

Director Justin Haines said “This is excellent news for the company, the quality of our craft and our record for good after sales service helped win the contract to supply our Haines 34 and 38 foot motor cruisers, securing another good export order for our company.  Despite the recent downturn our company has continued to sell boats and invest in new models and this latest order will mean we will need to take on more boat builders to fulfil the contract, this is great news for the local boatbuilding industry and its skilled workers.”

This is the latest of many export orders for the Award Winning Norfolk company which specialises in custom built motor cruisers for both charter and private markets throughout Europe.

Hybrids: Environmentally Friendly Boating

The talk of the moment in all boating media is the advance of environmentally friendly propulsion systems coming on to the market.

Haines have always been aware of environmental issues, particularly in inland and estuary boating. Having launched a twin motored electric river craft in 1996. Now the company is looking to offer some of its range of low wash river cruisers with the latest hybrid engine/electric systems coming onto the market.

As the public are now much more concerned about preserving the world’s inland water ways and natural resources, the market place is now more ready to embrace this new technology. We will be pleased to quote for the installation of hybrid systems for some of the craft in the Haines range.

This new 40 foot aft cabin is based on a proven restyled planing hull, with a new superstructure designed by Justin Haines. A semi displacement version also on offer for those not requiring as much speed or wanting to do more river cruising.

Having elegant contemporary looks with proven sea keeping ability, the 400 represents a major leap forward for the company into the larger offshore cruiser market. Nancy Oldfield Trust: Boats with wheelchair access available from Haines

Recently built was a Haines Bure 36 model converted for the Norfolk Charity that operates craft for the use of people needing wheelchair access. This boat has been modified from our current Bure 36 model to include a hydraulic ramp and access from both the side and the rear. The company specialises in this type of customisation which enables people to continue with their boating despite any physical disability.

This is the second craft the company has built for the Nancy Oldfield Trust, which operates several different types of craft on the Norfolk Broads. This new addition was launched in mid-August. Their first craft, a Haines 28'6" model, being used daily throughout the year to take people out on to the beautiful Norfolk Broads has been a great success, prompting the charity to return to Haines for another larger model.

The company would be pleased to quote for anyone requiring this type of customisation on some of the models currently in the Haines range of craft. Just give us a call on 01692 582180.

Southampton Boat Show 2010

With two boats being exhibited at Southampton Boat Show this year, we hoped to continue on from the success of last year’s show.

Again we weren't disappointed as an international audience of boating enthusiasts took their opportunity to see what Haines had to offer. The new Haines 400, displayed for the first time at an International Boat Show, proved a big attraction for many customers at the show. With many visitors making the Haines berths their first port of call on their day out on the South coast.

Along with the 400, the twin engine Haines 35 Offshore model also proved equally popular. The craft's new stylish walnut interior finish, being admired by many existing Haines customers.

Following on from last years success, we again left very encouraged by the high level of interest being expressed in both models, and pleased that an order for a 400 was placed at the show.

Haines Charter Craft

Another side to the Haines business during the past 30 years has been the building of a range of charter craft for companies throughout Europe. Haines craft have been enjoyed by boaters in France, Germany, Holland, Italy and Ireland over recent years.

Modern day motor cruisers are now fitted with all mod cons, and many Hire-fleet companies are enjoying a successful time, with an increase in demand. This has led to several orders being placed for new Haines craft, currently in production we have charter boats destined for both the French and Irish waterways.
